Svaroopa® Yoga is a modern expression of yoga's ancient tradition of opening the spine for the purpose of delving into the deeper dimension of your own existence.
Svaroopa® Yoga targets the internal structures of your body to unravel the deepest knots of muscular tension resulting in "core opening" or "spinal release."
Using precise alignment in body-friendly ways, these yoga poses release tensions in your deep spinal muscles, from the tail to the top.
Svaroopa® Yoga is both a precise and compassionate yoga practice created for the purpose of healing, transformation and transcendent experience.

Every class offers a unique combination of 52 basic moves that correspond with the main areas of the body: the base, the core and the upper extremities.
Stiff beginners and highly fit athletes alike can adapt Nia to meet their needs by choosing from 3 intensity levels.
Step into your own joyful journey with Nia and positively shape the way you feel, look, benefit of the next hour. You’ll warm up your heart, lungs and all the major joints.
Then you’re ready to really get moving - fast, slow, with patterns, free form, kicking, punching, breathing, using imagery and noise to keep it interesting. In time, exhilarated, you’ll begin to cool down.
Slow, languid movements gradually bring you to the earth where you can play using your body, the floor and gravity. Settling into stillness, you absorb all the effects these movements have had on your body, your mind, your emotions and your spirit.
You return upright and take a few closing and cleansing breaths. Now, you are centered, grounded, well worked, energized and ready to step out into your next activity radiating joy, beauty, peace, wisdom and power.

Yin Yoga is a therapeutic approach that targets connective tissue to release long held tension and toxins. Connective tissue is all pervasive and can easily become shrink wrapped due to injury, postural habits and storing of emotion. It is based on the ancient principles of Chinese medicine, acupuncture and meridian theory. Gentle, non weight bearing poses are held passively for longer periods of time in order to safely and gently open the body, mind and energetic channels. Yin Yoga is an essential complement to any dynamic physical regimen or a perfect way to begin on a path towards health and wellness. All of the poses are within the ranges of motion of most beginners and will noticeably enhance movement in daily life. Yin Yoga has been helpful to experienced students and those who are recovering from injury, suffering from chronic pain, or who need to reduce stress and gain flexibility.

Gentle/Beginners Series beginning Friday March 2nd
9:30-10:45 AM
This six week series invites those who are new to yoga, as well as those who would enjoy a flowing class offered in a gentle manner, to explore Yin/Yang flow. After an opening meditation, we move into several yin postures to release the deeper connective tissues of the body and to develop a meditative mind. We then begin to engage the muscular body to strengthen and stretch. We will learn to move with integrity from the center of the body in a safe and mindful way. We will utilize insights from multiple philosophic schools in order to bring our practice off the mat and into our daily lives. Class size will be small, so that each student may receive the benefits of individual attention and so that I may better support you on your journey into yoga.
